Bow flex dumbbells manufacture the SelectTech brand of dumbbells. Their sleek design and compact footprint make them one of the more popular solutions for adjustable dumbbell sets that are on the market today. The way these are designed they allow you to adjust your workout depending on the set you select by 2.5 or 5 lb increments. These weights look more like a traditional dumbbell bar with plates. The difference is in a built in dial mechanism that allows you to increment the amount of weights that the bar latches onto to adjust the workout load.

In researching this brand it appears that the majority of people who train with them are happy with their purchase. The only drawback mentioned by a few was that if you dropped them that it was possible to break them. It wasn't mentioned whether it was the dial mechanism or other component that failed. Overall though most people liked the product and there is a 5 year warranty on the plates and 2 year warranty on the parts. When using dumbbells it is a good idea to place padded mats on your workout floor to prevent damage to the floor if you dropped one. If you plan on doing this it should also lessen the concern that you will be able to break the dumbbell itself by dropping it.
